Because they think they’re special snowflakes because they’re in a nerdy subculture? I don’t see why you can’t just enjoy it.
But nerd is a derogatory word, it’s not something you want to be. I look in the Magic tag because I like to see decklists and people talking about the game. When I see things in the tag that, yeah, have to do with the tag, but are clearly condescending about it (“I’m such a nerd lol”), I get kind of pissed.
